Faith is a gift from God, it is knowledge born of love! Faith formation aims at growing in the knowledge of God who is love. At St. Cecilia we intend to continue this formation and sacramental preparation through distance learning for grades Kindergarten through High School, (hopefully for the short term). At this time, we anticipate a start date in early October and online registration will be announced via parish communications and emails will be sent to parish families. We will transition to onsite campus programming as the situation improves and our families feel comfortable participating in activities at the parish. In addition, watch for online and home study adult faith formation options coming soon. We hope the flexibility of online programming will encourage more parishioners to expand their knowledge and grow further in their faith.
Please contact Barbara Shields if you would like to assist in any of our faith formation programs.
Faith and Education – Adults
Thinking about becoming Catholic? check out RCIA
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is the series of learning sessions and celebrations by which adults learn and experience the Roman Catholic church in order to become a member, or, to refresh knowledge of the faith. Times together are scheduled once a week from fall until Easter. Fr. Mark, our pastor, and the RCIA team offer various presentations.
Want to volunteer with children? A Safe Environment class is needed
Safe Environment classes are required for those who volunteer with any children or vulnerable adults. They are offered periodically in our parish. To join a class, go to the Virtus website and look for St. Cecilia. Classes are also offered in other parishes and the Chancery (next door to the Cathedral in Seattle)
If you have questions, please contact the parish office, 206-842-3594
Spiritual Enrichment Events (SEE)
This ministry provides programs and resources to help adults enhance their spiritual growth and deepen their relationship with God and each other. It also serves as a catalyst to connect parishioners with members of the wider church community. Offerings are presentations, discussions, and retreats several times a year. To see what’s coming up next, watch the Sunday bulletins, website, and Bainbridge bulletin boards.
A friendly bible study group of 20-30 meet at 9:30 am on Tuesdays in the St. Monica Room, September -May. Snacks are always available! Previous knowledge is not required. Interesting videos are utilized. Attendees watch educational and inspirational videos, read, pray over, and discuss our faith in community.
Open M-F during regular parish office hours and also Sundays after Mass. An amazing resource for faith! 100’s of books and DVD’s for all ages.
