Sacrament of Baptism

Congratulations on becoming new parents! We encourage you to arrange for the Sacrament of Baptism as soon as possible for your child.

Baptism classes will take place the 2nd Saturday of every month at 10:00am in the St. Monica Room, taught by Fr. Mark. Please contact Stacy Dixon to begin the paperwork process. Parents must complete the Baptism Registration Form and return it to the parish office, along with a copy of the official birth certificate, no later than 1 week before the class you wish to attend.

The Sacramental Sign(s) of Baptism
  1. Water
  2. Words – “I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
The Grace (effect)

The effects of Baptism are:

  • the washing away of original sin, as well as all actual sin if any exists;
  • remits all punishment due on account of such sins;
  • imprints the character of a Christian;
  • makes us children of God, members of the Church, and heirs to Paradise, and enables us to receive the other sacraments.
For inquiries about the Sacrament of Baptism after the age of 7 years, please contact Stacy Dixon. To learn more about RCIC/RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children/Adults at St. Cecilia, click below.
