Sacrament of Baptism

Congratulations on deciding to baptize your child!
We joyfully encourage you to begin preparing for your child’s Sacrament of Baptism as soon as possible.

Baptism preparation classes for parents and godparents are held on the second Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Monica Room, led by Fr. Mark.

The Sacramental Sign(s) of Baptism
  1. Water
  2. Words – “I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” 
The Grace (effect)

The effects of Baptism are: 

  • the washing away of original sin, as well as all actual sin if any exists;
  • remits all punishment due on account of such sins;
  • imprints the character of a Christian;
  • makes us children of God, members of the Church, and heirs to Paradise, and enables us to receive the other sacraments.
